Hello Calmat,
The arrow overlay on the icon indicates that it's a shortcut. A shortcut is just a link to open whatever program or folder it's target is for. If you like, you could remove the shortcut arrow, but it would make it harder to tell what is a shortcut, and what is the actual folder or program's exe file. Option One in the tutorial below can show you how to change or remove the shortcut arrow.
