Pictures organize problem

Is there a way to actually reform the organizing of the pictures? For over 3 years I have never organized my folder by name/date/rating or any of that. It always organized itself with the picture I saved last coming up first. Now I accidently clicked name and it re-organized my hundreds of pics into this order and I can't seem to fix it. I went to customize folder and reset, that did nothing, I can't de-select it either. Please any help would be appreciated.

You'll have to click on date, possibly twice, to get the correct order.

If that doesn't work, click on View, Choose Details, and look for the order you desire- Date..... Checkmark the box. Then, go back to the Detail view and click on the option you selected.

Assuming you're in "Detail" view mode, if you right mouse click on the column title bar you'll get a pop-up showing a selection of column titles with check marks (shown) or no check marks (exempt). You can check/un-check any of them. "Date Modified" should be there, and if not you can add it (click the "More..." option at the bottom of the pop-up menu). As wither mentioned, the Date column title acts like a toggle for sorting ascending or descending. Descending will show the latest modified files first.
