Solved Lost files in documents folder

i have pictures stored in the documents folder. Recently, i had a virus. Now all the icons, whether for pictures or actual documents, for the files stored in documents folder haved a "faded" appearance. If i add new files, the icons are crystal clear. Any suggestions on how i can get all the icons to appear crystal clear. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

when i attempted to install a screensaver using those pictures, i got a message that my documents folder was empty. It wasn't empty, just all the icon appeared faded.
