Solved recycling bin corrupt

I have tried using the tutorial vistax64.com recycle bin corrupted to delete the folder using the Remove Directory in the Elevated Command Prompt and showing protected system files in Windows Explorer. But the corrupt $Recycle.bin folder remains, even when attempted in safe mode.

When I try to remove the corrupt folder a pop up appears telling me that the recycling bin is corrupt and would I like to empty it. It does not matter how many times I try to delete the folder this same pop up appears.

I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue where the $Recycle.bin folder is constantly displayed, even when hide hidden folders and hide system files are selected?

I recently performed a factory default restore on the laptop using the image on the hard drive, but I kept the user's files. So I am wondering if there is something in their files that I kept that are causing this issue.

I had to perform the restore because the laptop was failing to boot due to something missing in the boot order, I can not remember which error it was off the top of my head.

The issue of the corrupt recycling bin was present even before the factory restore too, but the laptop's owner was not worried about it. Now every time the computer boots it presents a screen asking to perform a factory restore or start windows normally, which it automatically does.

I am wondering if it would be better to just do a format on the hard drive, even removing the factory restore image and do a clean install.

I tried making a new administrative account and I am not getting the recycling bin corrupt, but the $Recycle.bin folder is still present under the C drive while it should be hidden.

I will try to delete the $Recycling bin folder another day, I ran out of time today to try deleting it.

Sorry for such a long wait, I finally got to take a look at the laptop again and creating a new Administrator account has fixed the problem so far. I have not tried moving the files over to the new account yet, but just using the new account there is no Recycling Bin corrupt popping up at start up anymore.
