volume control icon lost

volume icon on task bar dissapeared,can't adjust volume. How do I get volume icon back

No need to have that sad face, the solution is easy
Go to search by the start button
Type notification area.
Then set the way you want the volume icon to appear.

OK Betty, I have Windows Seven and may be a bit different than Vista, but try this.
Go to search and type volume.
It should come up show or hide volume icon.
