trying to delete norton

hello..would love some advice please..
my norton is up and i want to delete it..but it kept telling me i dont have permission.
so i searched on here and found that i need to take ownership and give my self admin rights...so i right clicked and searched and i think i found me and that gave me the rights....but just as i went to click ok, this came up "an error occurred while applying security info to: c:\program files\norton internet security\brand...firewall.chm..access is denied..any ideas..many thanks...Zachary

When you use Revo to uninstall it uses the programs uninstaller first and if it asks you to restart the computer you won't be able to find it again with Revo
Close the box that asks you to restart and let Revo do it's thing
If you are unable to find it now I would reinstall it then remove it again

so done a cclean and reinstalled revo and i still cant see it on there,ccleaner even has a uninstall that i tried..when i go to the start menu its there,so i right click open file location and theres loads of stuff there..but cant delete there..whadda recon..i have a free avg that i need to get rid of to and thats not on revo or ccleaner..thanks for any help...Z

cool tool..but it dont work..saying no installation package found..tip try to uninstall manually..tried kill and delete but says i need permission..do i throw out the window yet????...Z

Hi,

If you still want to try, have a go at uninstalling it with iobit uninstaller. Located here: IObit Uninstaller, Software Uninstaller, Advanced Uninstaller - IObit. If that doesn't work, try agian with the Norton removal tool in thefirst post by Yard Dog. To find out what version of norton you have, have a look in the help or about section of the program as that normally tells you.
