Recovery Disk D almost full

When I go into "Computer" it shows my Recovery [D:] almost full. It says there's only 897Mb free of 6.25. Isn't there only different recovery dates on here,and can I clean out this disk? If so,could someone walk me through it? Scares me to attempt it.
If I can empty this,will it help speed me up at all or be of any benefit? Thank you

From what you have told us it sounds like those are system restore points. As the D Drive gets full the older points will be removed to make room for the new. Here is some information about those points. Removing them may give you a small increase in speed, but lets learn about them first so that you can make the decision that is the most beneficial to you.

I think that's your recovery partition that you would need if you ever have to reinstall windows. You shouldn't mess with it unless you have some other way of reinstalling windows.

I think, that since dates were mentioned, its used for SR. In addition it seems to be using more and more space. What do you think?

Hope I'm doing this right & I'm to reply here. If I understand right,this will keep deleting the earliest & thus never get completely full. If so, I'd better leave it alone. On my old computer Wimdows ME, I did restores quite often. This is so different that I'm actuelly afraid of it. It wants to BACKUP. I know nothing about backups-never did one because I don't know how. I wasn't given any Vista Repair disks or a disk to reinstall Windows--none when I bought this from Best Buy. Should I leave well enough alone & forget the entire thing?

I think that you should leave it alone, because it has your system restore points.
Townsbg feels you should leave it alone because its your restoration partition. If he is right, it should not be growing in size.
Until we know for sure leave it alone and make a complete image of your hard drive. Put it on an external hard drive, so in the event of problems you can restore to where you are now
Use macrium reflect to make the image.
