Hey all.
I'm trying to cull a folder full of pictures. When I select maybe 11 or 12 pictures and delete them, they delete okay but then a green progress meter starts running across the location bar and I have to wait for it to finish before I can do anything else. It's taking forever.
I read some articles online that said disabling Remote Differential Compression will speed up copying and deleting of files in Vista. So I found the setting and unticked the box. A dialog opened with a progress meter and a message that said "This may take several minutes." So I waited and waited, about 15 minutes and nothing happened. There was no progress on the meter either. Every so often I would see activity on the processor light like it was doing something but not sure what. So has anyone ever done this and know how long it takes, and will it actually speed things up?
Thanks
