Solved Need a good copy of ''miguiresource.dll.mui'' file, please!

Hi,
Here are the details of the last SFC I performed on my laptop, which is running Vista Home Premium SP2. All the errors point to a corrupted ''miguiresource.dll.mui'' file. I couldn't find a copy of the file anywhere on the internet and will be very grateful if someone could send me a good copy from their system or point me to a source, so I can replace the file.

It should be easy to fix. It is probably from some software that you have installed. If you just uninstall and install the software, you should be fine

Thanks for the reply, Richard, but I haven't installed any new software recently and the system restore didn't fix the error. The link you've posted about the three manual ways to fix the error just confirms I need a good copy of the file, which was my initial request - it's not available on the internet and I don't have a second pc with the same OS. I have a pc with Windows 7 though, where the same file exists but is a different version. I wonder if that will work? Thanks.

Dont know if the copy from Seven would work, but certainly worth a try. Make a system restore point first. Unfortunately, Im on Seven, too.
If you have a Vista install DVD, you may be able to do a repair install, too.

Hi BVP

Below is a copy of the requested file.
It's also from a Vista Home Premium operating system, such as yours.
There is however a difference, it comes from a Dutch version.
I don't know if that'll make a difference.
As Rich already said, create a restore point before you make the change.

Hello BVP,

In addition, if you have a retail copy of Vista, then you can also manually extract any file you need from the retail installation disc to use to replace the one in your installation.

Brink, your method was the only one that worked! I replaced the file with a copy from the installation disk and the sfc doesn't find any 'integrity violations' any more. Great!
