Revert to Vista.

So the situation is this computer got given to me by a friend with pre-installed Vista however it was slow and buggy due to overload on the System so my neighbour fixed it and installed Windows 7.

Is there anyway I can find the key it used to have and install Windows Vista with the .iso or will I have to purchase a whole new license.

And if I do find the key it was installed with will I still be able to use it even now?

Thanks Joe.

Two ways to get the key. If it was preinstalled with Vista the key will be on the computer, itself. It is a 25 digit/alphabet number with spaces after each 5 numbers. If not there, you can the key number that you can obtain by downloading and using magical jellybean.
That key will be an OEM key, which may not work with anything but a DVD from the computer manufacturer.
You can also reinstall using the reinstall partition. What is the name and make of your computer?

If partition is delted, that method will not work.
The next best way is to call the manufacturer of the computer and get a DVD. It will cost about $25.00 and you can use your key if you have it. It should have the letters OEM, somewhere in the body.
Dont know of any legit downloads for Vista. If it were me, I would make sure my computer could work with Windows Seven and I would get an upgrade version for about $125.00

There is no right or wrong, but merely doing whats best for you. The best way is to try to get that Vista DVD that Imentioned, for about $25.00. Dont know of any legit downloads, for this old System.
