Hello chaps!
Ok this is a mixed topic post of gaming, networking and general. So i put it here. My house has 2 storys the bottom floor is where our international students and unfortunatly our Thomson router. They suck. The arial is the size of my pinky (im 16 btw) and hardly reached the top floor where our kitchen and bedrooms and lounge (bedrooms are the most away from the router with the kitchen and lounge directly over it.
We bought a TP-Link router with wireless bridge capabilities and it works fine BUT....
I now host a counter strike source and Insurgency Dedicated Server. I currantly have the server (laptop) hooked via ethernet to the thomson router down on the other floor. I have to keep going down to check everything is ok so what I would like to do is:
Since the TP-link router is right outside my bedroom i can via lan connect the laptop (server) to the tp-link and bridge it from there. BUT when people try to connect to my server, they get a not responding or timeout error. I port farwarded my ports to my laptop wirelessly and wired.
So... is it good to have the server upstairs where people sometimes randomly disconnect or cant connect at all or have the server downstairs where its all fine but i cant monitor it from the place I spend most of my time in.
Basically
how do i set up port forwarding with a repeater (no options in the page) and is it worth the bandwith speeds.
THanks (i know this is confusing)
