My laptop is dead

Due to a nasty Backdoor Trojan My Laptop is Out of action. A Trojan That diquised itself as a AV PROTECTION 2011 antivirus software has attacked my laptop. The Last 3 days have been hell with scanning an disinecting. ESET and Malwarebytes are my security. After cleaning the virus I rebooted and it just gave out.

If anyone knows some of my previous threads, will know I hd the Illegal copy of Windows 7 installed and having troubles getting rid of it...

Good news is that I have a new computer, well its actually an older model Desktop as of Yesterday. It seems to be top of the line cause of all the features. DVD?RW DRIVE with Lightscribe, another cd rom drive, 3 ghz P4 HT CPU card readers digital audio 6 USB Slots. ITS HP Pavillion a1034n. I will send pic later.

I do have a couple of issues I need addressed. The Problem is, its a XP not vista and can i still post to the forum about my Desktops prolem? or should I look for an XP forum, and miss you guys :sa:..

Hello, you may not have cleaned it out properly, give this a read, Keep in mind, if it was the root kit and the TDDS killer did not take care of it, then chances are slim of getting it out. Read this and check out each step in order , you may have to use a clean computer to make a dvd/cd of the programs to use and boot them to the infected computer. Remove AV Protection 2011 (Uninstall Guide)
If you can do this , you may save that computer.

Test for compatability from an installation DVD/CD, then update to Vista & we will help.

I have a friend for Church who is going to retrieve my information if its able to be done once he has the part he ordered(for imself anyways he says) and if the computer is ihsalvagable Its to the recycling depot, or just a fancy paper weight. I have my desktop anyways and just got my internet connection to a stable channel so im good. Umm I will check up periodically and if my Lappy is fixed I will be back more.. I will look into XP forums. TY For your advice and hope to hear from my friends here like Brink and Tom and Americancritic..

I suggest that you abandon XP provided that your system can handle either 7 or Vista. It is so out of date.
