I have a Satellite A205-S5812 notebook and the monitor starting coming on only with gray and black splash spots on the screen, can't get to BIOS or anything for the matter. Any help would be appreciated.

My bad, i forget in my haste to help, that those notebooks have no dvd drive to use for this. Someone else may have a way for you to check your hard drive , don't give up on us yet.
