Start Menu icons are doubled

I am totally new to this so if this has been posted somewhere else i appologize.
I just need help with my start menu.. on the right hand panel where you have "documents/music/download/games/" when i click on it it brings my to the appropriate folder, but my icons are all doubled and if i delete one they both delete, i dont know why

this may seem confusing but please see image and you will understand.
any help is appreciated

Hello Amethea, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Double check using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to make sure that your "Downloads" and "Documents" folders are set with the default location. Afterwards, check both copies to see if one doesn't have a "Location" tab in it's properties page. If one does not, then copy it's contents into the other one, and delete the one without the "Location" tab.
