Solved Annoying reminder

Hello
This is my first post here so please be patient. I'd like to know how to get rid of those annoying little reminders in the notifications area every time I log on.

It says,

Updates are not being installed automatically

and

Windows customer experience improvement program

Although I've hidden them from sight they still fire up once i start windows and I don't know how to turn them off permantly. I think its in the registry but don't know where. So before I go blundering around in there I'd like to know what I'm looking for and how to turn it off.
My laptop runs smoothly without any problems so I don't want these updates putting a spanner in the works. I have AVG Security 2011 protecting the laptop at prestent.

Thanks a lot.

Thats OK Tom
Nothing was installed before these messages started to appear as the operating system was only reinstalled a few days ago.

But the constant reminders are getting on my nerves. If I could find where these come from and switch them off for good it would be a welcome relief.

Thanks again.

To me sounds like ther updates ready to install right? IF SO iF YOU GO TO MSCONFIG utility and look for updated in startup or system menu and click it off and press apply. Hope that might help you out. As I said If it is the updadtes its telling you to install...

if yoiu don't know how to go to msconfig, here is the way I do it.

Click on start menu button in lower right corner and then where it has space to type, type in msconfig . then right click on it to and run as admin. and then you shall get into msconfig.

What I had done is dragged my msconfig to my desktop so it is easier to use. Do that with the command prompt screen...CMD.exe and any other utility you use often. This just creates shortcuts so i is easier access..

Hope I helped you out in any way.. and please call me friend.. Happy to help, at least try anyways.
