Solved User Account Control for Media Manager

Hi,
I would like to open Verizon's Media Manager without getting the UAC prompt to cancel or allow. I looked at the shortcut Security permissions in Properties and Security tab, Frank (FRANKSPC\Frank)
and Administrators (FRANKSPC\Administrators) all have Full Control.
The Shortcut Advanced properties has run as administrator checked. But, I still get the UAC prompt and need to allow.
How can I run Media Manager without the annoying prompt?

Hello Frank,

You could create a elevated shortcut using the tutorial below with the exe file of the Verizon's Media Manager program to do so. It works in Vista as well.

If the net result of this procedure is to get the short cut taged as "Run as Administrator". I have already done that.

You're welcome.

That's only part of the net result. The other part is to have it like that without getting a UAC prompt when UAC is still turned on.

Thanks for the update. I created the new short cut as specified. I did tag it as
"Run as Administrator". I get the same results as before. The only difference that I see is an option to run as administrator in the context list. It gives me the UAC prompt either way.

Thanks for the followup Brink,
I had read about the scheduler scheme and I appreciate the detailed instructions. I think that extensive procedure is overkill for my minor annoyance. I will start Media Manager when I log on and leave it up until I log off.
I tried running Media Manager from my Administrator ID it did not give me the UAC prompt.

You're welcome Frank.

Once the elevated task shortcut is created, you will not have to do so again and only use the shortcut to have it run elevated without a UAC prompt.
