Inspiron 1521 Laptop Powering on, but screen is black.

Yeah, so I accidentally bumped my laptop and caused it to fall about 3-4 feet pretty hard onto an amp. It was off, so I turned it on and it is making noises like it is powering up, but nothing appears on the screen. I googled around and when I hold a flashlight up to the screen I can see my desktop. I opened up the LCD panel thingy, disconnected and reconnected the screen inverter to see if it was just a loose connection, but the problem prevails. I just want some opinions on whether or not it is a busted screen inverter or something else before I go buy a new one.

Probably a busted inverter (since you can see your Desktop with a flashlight)
Try connecting an external monitor to it (there's usually a VGA port on the side of most laptops).

You may also want to check to ensure that the screen cable is tightly plugged into the mobo.
