Tiff not working

I am not very techie. I am trying to print an image on a library site. At first I got this message REGEDIT failed to update. The system registry please try using regedit.
I am afraid to mess with this.
Below the image to print is a tiff option when I clicked on that I got
"FileNET Panagon IDM Viewer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I checked in my "Problem reports and solutions" and it appears I have had this problem before.
Can someone offer a solution, please. Thank you.

I ran the program that you recommended; it showed 32 problems most were dealing with Registry, which was the original problem that I posted before I had the tiff problem. Please advise..... this is getting way over my head. Thank you so much.

Hello and wlecome to the forum.

Please do the following to see if it will help...

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html

1. Click Start...
2. In the search box type CMD
3. When the popup list comes up then RIGHT Click on cmd.exe and run it as administrator.
4. When the command box appears then type sfc /scannow, notice there is a space between the sfc and the forward slash...

After the scan is done if there are any errors then run it 3 more times as it repairs more each time it's run. After that please report back to us with the results.

Thank You

Tom

Heres the bottom line, either by Virus, registry cleaners, or changes that you made, the registry has problems, which must be corrected.
SFC found errors, but could not be corrected. If you want you can send us the log, but Im doubtful that we can correct errors of this magnitude.
Nothing that was mentioned in your earlier post or this one will accomplish repairing registry.
The only way to fix the brains of the computer (registry) which obviously is very important is to:
Go back to good times with a system restore (far enough from before the problem) which I doubt is possibly
Reinstall the OPerating system, if you have a reinstall DVD. You can get one for cost from your computer company.
With a install DVD, you can try to make a repair.

I would not do that. You will be charged all kinds or money and all they will do is reinstall, probably with Seven
Buy Seven for about $135.00, upgrade version and we can help you, its easy.

Rich,
If he has Vista why not buy Win 7 Upgrade for less than $100.00
install it and then let us help him if bug persists?
Maybe he/she has a tech friend close by who would help out in getting the data we need to help.
THW

Thats what I said, but the $100 DVD technically is not legal if not bought for install and resale, so we dont go there. Upgrade retail is $135.00

I missed something...
I had Vista Home Premium 32bit and paid $99.00 at Staples for Win 7 Upgrade.
Came with a 32 and 64 bit disks.
Everything was legit.

I am not advocating using a friends Win 7 upgrade.
Just having the friend come over and dealing with what the OP is or is not able to do.

Today, they go for about 135, of course if we can find a place that is reputable and has it for less, lets suggest that.
If she gets a DVD its easy, we just give her the clean install tutorial and tell her to watch youtube, too; see it step by step.

Well we both agree that the clean install tutorial and tell her to watch youtube is probably the best and easiest way for her to start fresh.
Let's hope the OP will take your advice and get their system up and running.
