Windows Fax & Scan does not work for me!!!

Windows Fax & Scan does not work for me!!!
I constantly get this error when trying to send a fax using Windows Fax and Scan:

Line: 2053
char: 1
Error: The device is not ready
Code: 0
URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.js

I am running vista ultimate 32bit and I am not a computer techo.

Hello ScottDelta and welcome to the forums :party:

Is this a recent problem? If so, how recent?

SFC Scan

1. Open the start menu
2. In the search box, type cmd
3. Right click on cmd and select Run as administrator
4. In command prompt, type:

sfc /scannow

5. Let it run and let me know if it finds any Integrity Violations

What scanner are you using?
Try reinstalling the software for your scanner.
What service pack have you got?
Have you changed the browser that you use?
Have you installed any new updates?

Try this;

Go into cmd by clicking on the windows orb
click on search and type cmd

then type in the following in this order

regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
