Hello. Yesterday, I tried performing a System Recovery on my computer by pressing f11. I've done this more than once so I'm quite familiar. However, during the process, my computer shut off completely. I turned my computer back on and it went back to the System Recovery screen but a message appeared saying something like "An unexpected shut down of your computer. Windows is unable to install. Press OK to restart and install the Windows software" or something along those lines. So I kept pressing OK and my computer kept restarting but nothing happened. The same message kept appearing.
So on my other laptop, I created a USB that would install Windows Vista Home Premium. That worked and I was able to access Windows. However, when I boot up my computer, a screen appears that says "Choose an Operating System" and it has "Windows Vista" listed twice. Also, all the f keys work when I boot up the computer however, the f11 key does not work at all. I can't access the System Recovery. I try to press f11 and it says "System Recovery....." but then it loads to the "Choose an Operating System" screen.
My question is, is there any other way to access System Recovery other than pressing f11?? Maybe typing something in the Command Prompt?
Also, can someone maybe provide me with the HP System Recovery Manager disk download?? I don't want to order one. PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
