colour bars appearing on photos

It may not be a vista problem but I am now wondering if it is...
In just one folder (touch wood) of many photo folders colour bars or tinting start to appear as soon as you open the folder. Either a green or yellow tint or the botom half of the picture is solid green.
I am hoping someone might have an idea please.

Hi,

Please post a picture of the folder image as you see it, as this will give more of a clue as to the issue.

If you click on a photo does it display correctly without errors?
Have you updated anything recently? Windows system or drivers!
Is your system fully updated?

Thanks for trying to help. Nothing changed on the PC and I have not touched the folder for ages. Here's an example

Hi,

That implies that the file is corrupted.

Copy that file to a new location & check again. Please post a picture of your result.

If you want to recover the images we can work on that but you may need to purchase recovery software, OK?

Same result, tried them in the Vista Pictures folder and the Desktop. I agree about being corrupted but how is the corruption happening when I can see a good picture for a split second after opening the file before a colour bar appears.........

Sorry that the problem is still there.

Try running check disk in "Properties, tool" for the drive & see if it can fix the errors.
