Printer - Blank Pages?

Welcome
Several possiblities:
Out of ink
Printer driver not current or corrupt
Printer is defective
Printer not comptible with OS.

Hey richc! Thanks for responding. The printer is full with ink; the software I used to install it was the CD that came with it and as far as I concerned it is not corrupted. However, I don't know how I cant tell if the printer is defective. It can scan and perform other functions. Incompatible? I used the same printer on this laptop although I cannot exclude the possibility..

Go to search and type devices and printers. Is the printer listed?
With Vista it may be device manager in lieu of devices and printers.

Yes. I tried printing a test page many times; It makes the sound of printing but ends up blank. Also, it seems to be using up ink without actually printing anything. :S

Try updating the Driver, by going to the webpage of the printer Manufacturer.

Have you taken each ink cartridge out and cleaned the printing heads with a soft tissue?
When I clean the heads and insert them back in mine auto prints a page to show me color and settings.
If I missed it ..........What kind of printer are we talking about?

Hey there! sorry for the late response network was down for a while.. HowlW, The printer is Brothersoft MFC - 490 CW (All in One); I will try to clean out the ink cartridges but I'm not sure if it will do much.. I will try the Troubleshoot printer problem and look for latest versions.

It appears that you must read your manual and clean the absorbers. It is usually a messy job, but has to be done now and then.

Checked the link; same problems except there are no solutions on the link Just this one: ''The error message is an indication that the machines ink absorbers are almost full. The ink absorbers hold liquid and dried ink after it has been purged from the print head. These absorbers can control enough ink for the expected life of the machine'' What does that mean, and how can I fix this?
