Solved slow to shut down, slow to open, etc.etc

my bothers kid, has been playing on his computer and now his not sure what the little guy has done to it, tryn to acess any of the system programs proves to be a timely challenge, as well as booting, rebooting, and shutting down. Tried system restore, same problm still, also the system restore took over an hour. i wish i could say what happened but i dont know, any ideas?

ok i did like u said, for a clean reboot, but after i typed msconfig in search, all it did was search, never found??? im afraid to restart and go into safemode, i was told last time he shut down it took for ever to start back up, im am on his computer right now tring to help him figure this out, i appoligiz, here r the specs:

Oh and does he know when this first started and what he was doing with it at that time.

Hello Ok lets try a couple of things to see if it will help..If you can get to the desktop even if it takes a while to get there.

Have him do a full up-dated virus scan using his security

Then have him download malwarebytes and run a full scan here is the link for him.

If you can get it to do these 2 things and they come back clean then it should be fairly easy to get him back up and running. Let us know if he is able to do these and keep us informed as to his progress. LOL

running the scans now... i finaly got system config to open, and system services were unchecked, i checked them and rebooted now it seems to be running bettter. idk if this tells u anything...
