Frustrated of hiberfil.sys

Hi Experts,

I am using Windows Vista Enterprise (32-bit) OS on hp 6910p model. This post is about hiberfil.sys which is a space hungry devil to me and I want to kill this damn file anyhow. What I have tried till date to remove this file-

1. Using an elevated command prompt, typing "powercfg -h off" and rebooting the system.
2. Changing setting "Hybrid Sleep" to "Off" and "Hibernate After" to "Never" in every scheme in Power Option.
3. Playing with registry powercfg and changing its values and rebooting several time.
4. Using elevated command prompt, tried to rename, delete and changing the attributes of the file but all in vain.
5. Just after entering "powercfg -h off", I quickly tried to create a dummy folder named "hiberfil.sys" (to prevent the system to auto-create hiberfil.sys) but surprisingly, the file was not deleted and it prompts that a file with the same name is already present.:sa:

Once I use the command "powercfg -h off" in an elevated command prompt, the file goes off just for a blink and after refreshing content, it comes again. :sa:

Now, I left searching about hiberfil.sys and joined this forum to get somewhat satisfactory response.

Please help me.
Thanks & Regards,
Sanjay

It doesn't even show the hibernation file cleaner in Disk Cleanup utility. See attached images.

I know but sometimes the cleanup affects hiberfil.sys
If that does not work, try what you did before, but in safe mode. I bet some process is stopping it from being removed.

I also tried it in safe mode but no benefit. In safe mode, it doesn't show the file in root directory (C:\ drive). It also shows the free space of 2 GB which is consumed by the hiberfil in normal mode.

TFC cleaned other temp files but didn't clean hiberfil. :( I rebooted system after TFC finished its task, but like devil's face, it came to root directory-seeming it has taken an oath not to leave the disk...
