Shadow behind text problem

Hi, recently my HP computer has had a problem in which a shadow is showing behind everything: text, pictures, etc. And not only in Microsoft Word like the picture shows, but also in other programs like Mozilla Firefox, MSN Messenger, etc. Can you you please help me with this problem? Thank you.

Have you tried doing a System Restore to a point before the start of the problem?

Hi, thank you for replying. Yes, restored approximately one month back. I also updated the drivers, adjusted the settings on my computer, editing the visual settings, and check the wires.

Run a full malwarebytes scan. Download and make sure its updated
Run a full anti virus scan.
If that does not work, try with a clean boot

If that does not work
Try in another user account, your account could be corrupt

Another thing to try if all else fails:
I know you said you've checked the wires, but reconnecting them may not be a bad idea. Turn off your pc, unplug your monitor from the video port on the back of your computer. Also do this on the back of the monitor if it is built like that, then reconnect them. I've seen odd things cause by something a simple as a loose connection.
It's worth a try.

Also, is there anything near your monitor, like a set of speakers, or a power brick of some kind?
