This is on my Vista Home Premium, 64-bit OS.
I keep receiving this message: C:Windows\system32\Config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible. Access is Denied.
Now, I've looked at lots of suggestions and tried the whole making another user account and disabling the sidebar, but I can't even make another account (and this is in safe mode.)
Clicking on "Manage another account," doesn't do anything, and gives no response. Trying to do so when starting up the computer normally is impossible too, and doesn't respond when I click the classic view link.
I've tried putting in both of the recovery disks that came with my laptop, and neither respond in safe mode or otherwise. Getting task manager to get them to run for me keeps giving me errors, stating that the CDs (which came along with the laptop and including the 64-bit one) were no match.
System recovery is disabled, and I cannot enable it either. I follow the directions in Windows Help and Support, but when it tells me to click 'System Protection,' it only brings up a box titled 'System Properties,' and none of the tabs (Computer Name, Hardware, Advanced, Remote) hold what I need.
