Good Morning,
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Vista Home Premium 32bit. I have a Canon MP620b printer that used to work with it as a network printer. The printer was plugged into the old router.
The old router is a Linksys wrt54G. It started going bad, so I replaced it with a Cisco wireless N router. The new router software installed something called Network Magic. Could that be part of the problem?
I gave the printer a static ip address in the router. I then went through the network setup for the printer, on the laptop, that is documented here and other places on the web. Nothing worked. Vista cannot find the printer now. I plugged a LAN cable from the printer to the laptop and tried to set it up that way. Didn't work. I tried a USB cord and Vista found the printer that way.
I plugged the printer back into the router, as I want it available to other computers in the house. I did get a macbook hooked up to it wirelessly, but it took several tries to find it.
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
Thanks.
