my windows, my start menu, its all light grey, i tried restarting, i scanned for virus but didnt find a solution, please help...otherwise it works the same as before, it is also showing like 10 GB space to be free than what originally was there but nothing seems to have been deleted.

Right click on the desktop and choose personalize.
Now click on Window color and appearance.
Change the colour to red and see if this makes a difference.

BUT,...... I found if you click to Desktop Background instead of Colour & Appearance you have a multiple choice of backgrounds.

Following Roys suggestion: - An Appearance setting window opens,.

This then gives the choice for you to change it to Windows Vista Basix, Windows Classic etc., whichever you choose press Apply plus ok. Background will alter.

Providing of course nothing more serious has happened, then follow Richc advise, if not already done so.
