I'm new to VistaForums...I've been reading and searching for a solution to my problem. I may have missed it. I did read the tutorial on making a bootable system recovery disk. I downloaded the .iso file from neosmart.
I am wanting to do a "Startup Repair" on Vista 32-bit OS (system came loaded)...I am getting a BSOD 0x7b. My system is a ACER AM5461 running DC intell. My problem is that when I boot into the System Recovery...I don't get an OS...I can get to the recovery screen...but selecting "Start Up Repair" does nothing. Now the previous screen (which indicates no OS) asks for the drivers to be loaded... I suspect that this is the reason why the repair does not work because the HDD drivers are not loaded on boot up?? I've seen some questions on this but no specific solutions.
A little on the HDD with the Vista 32-bit: I have previously loaded the Seatools and completed the testing of the drive which is good. Also done a virus test which was also good. This is a dual boot drive C: Vista D:Windows 7. All Vista info can still be seen on drive c:/D: when 7 is booted which works...Vista starts with load bar...and get a bit through then the 0x7b. This was happening before I installed a dual boot of Windows 7....
Hope this is enough information....I sure wish I had discovered this site before...really good/helpful.
Help for a newbie needed.....Thanks
