HP Pavillion DV2519 tu model laptop cpu usage is highly fluctuating

My HP Pavillion DV2519 tu model laptop cpu usage is highly fluctuating. seems fluctuating in seconds. whenever i open a program it goes upto 70-80%. My laptop configuration is following:

1.5 GHz core 2 duo processor with 160 gb sata HDD. RAM 2.5 gb DDR2. one is Samsung 512 MB with 667 MHz and another is 2 GB kingston with 800 MHz.

OS is Vista Home Premium 32 Bit.

used Spyboat but no adware or Malware found. using norton 360 antivirus.

Plz suggest me what to do. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Welcome test in clean boot mode and report the results
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Run a full anti virus scan
Download and run a full scan with malwarebytes.

Bring up the task manager and check process, what is the cause of the high CPU usage?

Thank you rich for your help. I have full scanned my system with norton 360. nothing found there. even i also scanned with malwarebytes scanner. complete result file i am attaching with this post.

But after all these my laptop cpu is highly fluctuating. Is there any other problem. please help me out. I shall be highly grateful to you.

You did not mention clean boot, this may show the cause of the problem.

Try with will disconnected from the internet. Actually remove the connection and test.

Edit: You brought up task manager screen shot as I was typing.

You are fine. A high system idle is normal and actually good.

I tested on my own computer, When I bring up Malwarebytes, I jump to 30% with 6gb of ram.

I have tested it on clean boot that means in selective startup mode. the cpu is still fluctuating but not too much. I m adding here two image of task manager with name clean1 and clean2. plz see.

While in safe mode my cpu performance is quite good. no fluctuation there. adding the safe mode task manager screen shot with the name of safe.jpg.

Plz see and help me in this problem. thanks again.

I dont think that you have a problem. That system idle is showing correctly and I have a fluctuation in CPU when I start a program, too. I tried with Malwarebytes and it fluctuated to 25%.

Actually my problem is continuous cpu fluctuation. just for example, let suppose i m scanning with antivirus and cpu usage is 40% in that case. So what that happens is that my cpu usage go up down in seconds and that happens conti uously.
40% and suddenly to 100% then again 40% in 2-3 seconds and so on.

Is that problem or my system running fine.

I just checke with Microsoft Security Essentials by makeing a scan. My CPU was at about 2% before the scan. Began the scan it jumped to 15% and went as high as 35%. Your situation seems quite normal. The % wil will vary from machine to machine depending on the specs.

Hello Rich,

After long days once again i come to you. Sir my laptop still giving problem and the problem is same (highly fluctuating CPU usage).. even when i leave my laptop in idle position with no works with it cpu fluctuation is there. once 10%...then 90-100%....again 30%.....then 90% and something like this. even working with internet explorer, when i open 3-4 tab...computer response is very slow. i think there must be some problem.....plz help....thanks in advance...

A quick look shows that the cause is the health check scheduler. If you dont want it just follow this advice. I personally dont think its needed. I think its a selling gimick

The software uses cpu and then when it checks it causes the spikes.
