how do I pull a desktop file I forgot to get off of formatted vista, and i'm now using win. 7 Ult. 32bit?

-I need 1 folder that contains pics, music, and personal docs.

I didn't notice that I never moved it to my external 1TB so when i changed from Vista over to Win 7 and started loading one of the users personal folder, then switched over to the other to find I never even grabbed it off of there!!

I can't find the folder, when I'm using EASEUS Data recovery wizard. any ideas on exact location? 1 folder on desktop originally. Anyone know a quick file path or fix?

The good news is contary to common beliefs a format does not erase data. You may want to use recuva, but odds are slim to none that it will be successful
Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download
Recuva is considered one of the best. If you cant find the documents, I feel that the chances are very slim
I would suggest, however, if the documents are important you stop using the drive and bring it to a specialist. Because the probability of recovering from a formatted disc is very slim you may want to consider going to a specialist prior to any additional use. .
If you just did an upgrade and did not format the files would be in windows.old.
I do wish you the best of luck

From the above article
Formatting the hard drive is a bit more secure than simply erasing the files. Formatting a disk does not erase the data on the disk, only the address tables. It makes it much more difficult to recover the files. However a computer specialist would be able to recover most or all the data that was on the disk before the reformat.
