Hi, I'm new to the Vista forum. As you would guess I have a problem that brought me here. I am no way a computer expert. I had a problem with my computer today. My original problem was a red X over my volume control. I couldn't get my volume to work. When prompted to enable and I clicked ok....nothing happened. After trying to fix this for several hours I reinstalled my Vista operating system(disk came with computer). This did not turn out well. I will explain as best I can....I'm not a computer literate person...hopefully this experience will enhance me. Now, when I start the computer...during the boot I get a choice of 2 vistas. One vista link takes me to my original Vista OS which everything works, but the sound or during start up boot if I choose the other choice I get my newly installed Vista OS and nothing works on that OS. I had to create a new user ID for the 2nd OS. I Can't log onto internet or even find my wireless internet connection on the 2nd OS. I want to remove this new/2nd Vista OS....the sound works, but nothing else works or has to be set up and at the same time this new install filled up my memory.....I have no space remaining....the "E" memory bar is filled and completely red. Could someone help me/instruct me to remove the 2nd Vista OS I installed. I think it will be easier to fix the sound on original Vista install. Any help/advice will be appreciated.
