Hi. I run windows vista. I recently downloaded a free game called America's Army. It comes with an add on called "americas army server manager". Well I decided I didn't want to play the program anymore so I uninstalled it...no big deal...well, the problem is after I uninstall Americas army, the server manager add on stayed on my hard drive. I tried Uninstalling it from the "add or remove programs" list. But it responds...
"this action is only valid for producs that are currently installed" ...soooo...
I didn't really know what to do to get rid of it so (hoping this would solve the problem) i went to the americas army server manager destination folder and deleted everything. Went back to add or remove programs and the icon is still there. Sooo im just kind of baffled at this point. Its like a blank icon to a program that supposedly is completely removed from the cpu that I can not interact with at all. After browsing help forums I even went as far to delete its registry key code from command prompt....and the icon is still holding strong right there just totally not serving a purpose at all besides taking up space. On the add or remove programs screen it says the file is 11.8MB and since i deleted everthing from the registry i don't know if that means this icon is taking up that much space or if its just a glitch and the icon is just sitting there not taking up any space but for some reason can't be removed.
So to sum it up...I have an app icon in my "add or remove programs list" that cannot be removed. But its entire destination folder has been deleted. Clicking uninstall doesn't help. This is the only place the icon exists it has no purpose. But I can't figure out of to get it out of my add or remove programs list for the life of me. And google'n around hasn't turned up anything that help either. So I figured I would try here. any help is MOST appreciated. Sorry for the length of this post its just that this little icon has been kicking my a@# for the last couple of hours. Any thoughts?
