Disk Check Failed

Hello I am running windows vista home premium 64 bit. I did a system Diagnostic report and it told me (Disk Checks Failed) and need to know what to do, I am not very computer saavy. Can someone help and tell me what I need to do next. Thanks

Follow these instructions to make a disc check. Then report back and tell me what happened.
Many times the actual disc check will fail. Not that serious an event if you can make one later. Lets be sure there are no errors on the disc.
Check your hard disk for errors

If you canot make the check, we will try to repair starting with and sfc scan and going all the way to a repair install if you feel that the problem warrants such action. I will explain the consequences of each choice, but first on to the check.

Be sure to follow these instructions before taking any other action. There is a possiblity of Hard Drive problems.

Hello and thank you for your advise, I had already done what you recommened and right when it finished it went right to my logon password, it went so fast I could not read anything about the scan. Should I have done something else other then what I has already done or is there a place that kept a copy of the scan on my computer somewhere. Please advise. Thank You

The Vista check disk log can be found as follows: ,
Type, Event Viewer in search, Windows Logs, Application. Scroll down
the Application Events looking for Wininit in the Source Column. You can also
use Find in the right column to help locate each Wininit entry. Open Wininit

Hello again and thank you for your advise and I know it is getting late so I hope I dont keep you up, but I found this fro two things regarding the check disk failed and it reads like this. Under the system Diagnostic Report.........
1, (Disk check failed) so I double click it and this is what shows,
root\wmi:SELECT * FROM MSStoragedriver_FailurePredictStatus where PredictFailure=true

2, root\cimv2:SELECT_Relpath, Name, Description,FileSystem. VolumeDirty FROM Win32_LogicalDisk WHERE DriveType= 3 and VolumeDirty= true

I hope this helps because I did not find the other report we talked about.

Hello I have found the report you asked me to find, now what do I do with it I saved it in word, is their something I should look for in it or is their a way to send it to you.

Does it show errors?

If no we dont need it

Hello once again I looked at the report and it says nothing about any errors, the only thing was 0 KB in bad sectors, I don't understand why one says it failed and the other says nothing about it failing, maybe you could shed some light on it for me. I am learning a little bit everyday it seems and I am very grateful for your help in this matter, is it possible for you to tell me what to watch out for and why and maybe you would allow me to send you a list of what my computer is and whats in it and then maybe give me site info on how I should use and take care of it without getting into trouble by clicking a wrong button so to speak. Thank you very much for your HELP and I would recommend anyone one out there thats needs help should speak to you it sounds like you have been working on computers for a long time, and I did click the middle button at the right upper hand coner and sent you a little note.)

I will give you all the time and help that you need. Hey, thats why I am here.The first report indicated that the scan failed and that happens, dont worry.
The second report indicated that there were no problems on the disc.
I prepared this list of maintenance items for Windows 7, but it is the same for Vista

Read it and understand it, ask questions if necessary. Just follow the list no more and no less. Especially no more; no reg cleaners, no maintenance software, just follow the list.

System Diaghostic Report

Hello I just ran another system report and this comes up, can anyone tell me what to do or how to fix it.

1, Smart Disk Status Query
root\wmi:SELECT * FROM MSStorageDriver_FailurePredictStatus WHERE PredictFailure=true

2, Logical Disk Dirty Bit Set Query

Do I need to worry at this point or is this an easy fix, so who ever can help I would be Greatful and thank you in advance.
