Solved where are my backups

I go to control panel, select back up and restore ..do complete back up... it says backup successful.... but when i go to my maxlor external HD I cant see any back up....

I dont want to panic but where have they gone.

I can copy files to desk top and transfer them and see them but not my whole computer.

Hello Australian, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Vista complete computer backups are save as a VHD file inside the WindowsImageBackup folder on your external HDD if that's where you saved it to. To view the files inside the VHD, you will need to use a free program like 7-Zip to open the VHD, or the tutorial below.
