I have Windows Vista Home Premium. Somehow my registry got corrupted I suppose and explorer will not run.
If I double click any folder, it brings up Microsoft One Note. Same thing if I right click the task bar and click "Open Folder" - I get MS One Note. If I go to a command prompt window and go to C:\Windows and type explorer.exe, I get a message box saying "This file does not have a program associated with it. Create an association in the Set Associations Control Panel." I can't open Control Panel though, if I go to Control Panel I get the same message. I found the CP .exe files and tried opening them through a command prompt - same thing. Basically anything that uses an explorer will not open at all.
Any ideas how to fix this? I assume I need to set this association in the registry but I haven't been able to figure out where or what to set.
Thanks.
