My Problems with check and repair disc errors.

I have for some time been having problems with my check disc and repair errors diagnosis. I open up check disc errors it goes to the stage of going to be starting on boot up. On boot up the start up begins to check for disc errors and then moments later a further message keeps on coming online saying that the disc error check has been cancelled everytime.

The disc errors have been checked and repaired eventually by going through the command prompt coding ect. It says it found one error and repaired it.

But still on boot up a disc check begins which I want and then stops saying the error was cancelled.

However, I am not cancelling this disc check and repair. I want the discs checked and repaired but something keeps stopping it and keeps cancelling the disc and repair check.

I wondered if anyone on this forum might know what is going on and would be willing to voice that opinion.

Furthermore, to add to my dilemma I tried to system restore my computer, however, when i pressed for system restore it said it could not restore the system because there is a disc error on drive C.

I had repaired the disc errors and it was all restored according to the command prompt. Yet when i go to system restore the computer cannot restore the system because it claims there is an error on drive C. As I have said when going into command prompt I was able to check disc errors and they were repaired so it said in the command prompt.

The system restore however, is telling me something else. {sigh}

Perhaps you can grasp why this is all frustrating. Does anyone know or have some ideas what is goin on.

I add by the way that I do not have a windows Vista disc. Windows Vista was on the machine when I bought it from the shop. So I only have what is already on the computer to help me.

I have been using the commands chkdsk C:/r

And fsc/scannow

They both seem to work fine.

But if I attempt to sytem restore it says there is an error on disc C so it cannot system restore. After scanning it though the command prompt said it found 1 error and fixed it so it should be OK but the computer changes its mind if I system restore.

If I put system files-sfc command into the command prompt what would then happen. Are those correct tags

Go to the website of your hard drive manufacturer and give the hard drive a real test.

Well Richard unless that information is in the system files I would not know anything other than its a 32 bit running on acer. How can they help.

I seemed to have lost you. You are having problems because of errors. I suggest that the Hard Drive may be the cause of the errors. If you know the manufacturer of your hard drive, you can get it tested. If you do not know the Manufacturer, I will show you how to find it.

Edit: I answered the previous question, that you had up above and then changed.

I would have to go disecting my computer to find the hard drive data surely? The system only mentiones the computer model and manufacturer. Although I have this problem my computer is working OK and I do not want to go doing heart surgery on it unless I really have to. My computer has seals on it and if possible I do not want to break them unless in an emergancy. Everthing on the Acer aspire is all genuine would the model number help tell me what the hard drive manufacturer is.

Oh a volentary contrabution. That would help if they had a shop close by but online I still cannot pay electronically otherwise there would be no problem The site still will not download unless some contrabution is made and yet the idea is still there and many such sites muct exist perhaps I should call up the mighty google and see what miracles can be performed.

Well I dont trust credit cards when hard cash sits better in the pocket. I also do not trust the Internet with cash transactions. It is a foreboding paranoi because of the suffering of others already making that mistake.

For whatever reason that suggestion did not work out. Do you have a Vista install DVD?

Actually Richard the download is free and it will install on my computer however that only means it does not cost to download it. When you do the scan it then asks you to register and that then means you must buy the product. It will not do the task until you buy the product. It will scan and say it has the needed data but if you want it then you must buy it. I do understand I just do not have a way to comply. The most common that does that offer of promise is Uni Blu. Trust me the cost of getting it to the computer is free. It is sales talk but to use the product you have to buy it.

Of course you will have already gone to a lot of trouble and done all the wait for scanning process to end only to get a register product now sign and a request for a fee. Thanks anyways but that is not going to fix the problem.
