fill external drive with pics?

I have to return an external drive - to walmart.
i don't have anything to really erase it so i filled it full of identical 1MB images.
do you think it will work to prevent any snooping?

But you said that it is not important stuff. The best way is to zero format, but you have to buy software for that. Regular format is the next best way and better than the stuff that you put on.
