I cant download/install anything from internet and cant view some picture attachments

Hello
I really hope someone can help me.

I lost itunes and search the internet for hours and hours and eventually after two days managed after uninstalling all the windows live stuff off my laptop to reinstall it successfully today , then I managed to install windows live and messenger etc again through a windows update.

But now I cant download/install anything from internet and cant view some picture attachments either ??

these are the messages I get....

Internet explorer cannot download from download.Microsoft.com
Internet explorer was not able to open this internet site. The request site is either unavailable or cannot be found . Please try later

Run an antivirus scan
From another computer download malwabytes to a finger drive, Cd etc
Then transfer to the problem computer, run a scan.

If negative, try a system restore from before the problem.

thank you for replying unfortunately I have already done a virus scan and it didn’t find anything and no restore point is saved beyond when I managed to install itunes successfully again :(

Go to safe mode with the network option and see if that works.

Try the malwarebytes, is not looking for the same thing as an antivirus.

Hi Im not very good at the pc stuff do I need to turn it off and go intp safe mode ?

Ok I'm in safe mode with networks still can't see attachments and still can't download/install?

Try this if you have IE8
Tools
Internet options
advanced
Reset
This removes all the add-ons, one of which may be causing the problem.
