Solved color scheme windows vista basic help

hi,

i have been having problems with my computer its not a big issue but its frustrating me.
every to i turn my computer on it tells me that the color scheme has changed to windows vista basic. when looking at the information it says the program that is causing it is windows explorer and im not sure how to rectify this. i have tried to change it back to aero but it just keeps going back to basic.

Go to Start, All Programs,Accessories,Command Prompt. Right Click and Run As Administrator.
Type sfc /scannow
If errors are found ,Run the command again.

    Weakest part of my computer is the graphics chipset. Only ever used a laptop. Also use USB Freeview TV Card Lenovo Docking Station External Speakers Other bits a pieces as needed
When it happens again could you go to Event Viewer,Windows Logs,System.
See if it gives you an error code for explorer.
It may not make an entry here but if it does could you post the error code.Thanks

I am of the impression that you were able to have Aero before.
Have you installed anything lately?
Do you have a Restore Point you could use to restore your system to before the problem started.

hi thanks for the help i did not see anything in the event viewer, but i did go through my registry and it seems to be working now.
