where can i find vista?

Hey, i'm new here, so sorry if this is a dumb thing to post about. but here's my situation.

i have a 500gb hard drive with windows vista home premium 32-bit os on it.
i also have a 1tb hard drive that i'm wanting to install windows ultimate on. i then want to use the 500gb drive as either a secondary storage drive for my program files or song file(home recording) or install windows xp on it and use it as a recording set up since xp is known to work so much better with recording software.

my main question is, where can i find a trust worthy place to but outdated software? i'm figuring i should be able to get one or both of them for a decent price since windows 7 is out now. but everywhere i go either looks sketchy or doesn't provide enough details.

another question i have is about the software versions. i know that the ultimate versions come with 32 and 64 bit software on them (i think they all did) but how i can i be sure i'm getting the right activation code? or does it come with both just a formality like would you rather have a hamburger or a hot dog?

If you buy Vista or Windows 7 from a reptuable dealer (which you should). You will get 2 DVD's one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit. You can use either with the same key. You can take it off your machine and change back and forth etc. But only on one machine at a time
Get an old version. Be careful, stay away from places like ebay. Other than that I have no more information

thanks for the info on the disks. home premium only has one with it so it threw me off a little. i looked on ebay but decided against it quickly. too unsafe. and i'm trying to find a reputable dealer but everyone has since stripped the shelves of vista, making my hunt very difficult.

I think that you will be able to find the old OS at places like EBay at great prices, but do not be tempted. In spite of all the assurances they offer, many posters have come here asking for help after finding out that the OS does not have a valid key. Please, be careful. Some even said that the OS worked, just until the EBay guarantee expired.

have you heard anyone buying from amazon? there are a few software dealers on there. but i don't want to get ripped off on anyhting.

Based upon all that I have read at this forum, and my own feelings, I would not buy from an ebay, amazon etc. If you are going to only save a few dollars its not worth it. If you are going to save a bundle, you will get ripped off.
The guarnatee they give for 30 days is worthless. Cracked deys can be made to last 90 days or more. I really do not want to see you get hurt, so as a fellow member of Seven Forum, I advise stay away. You will have the OS for a long time, how much will you save per year if you save just a few bucks up front. Then how about, if the DVD is legal but defective? Stay away.
