Does anyone know if Windows image Backup overwrites previous backups?
Here's my story if interested. I had 3 1TB hard drives in a Raid 5. Once a week one of the drives would drop out and i was afraid of 2 dropping at the same time, so i decided to go back to 1 drive, no raid. So I did a Windows Image Backup to a External 1TB Hard Drive, it was roughly 400GB in size.
Then I installed Vista again on a 1TB to have a starting point for the Restore, since it was having problems with finding the right drivers. After I installed all my programs, I decided to do another Windows image Backup to have a starting point if my restore didn't work, since it saves with a different date in the name, i didn't think it would erase the other one. Now my external drive says it only has 24GB of info on it instead of 400. Was it overwritten or is my data recoverable.
