For the past 5 days or so, the screen on my laptop gets scrambled after being on for a few hours. What happens is, the taskbar goes to the top of the screen, desktop background becomes black mostly except for the bottom edge, desktop icons appear on top of the windows-nothing overlays properly, all the windows flash all over the place on top of each other, and while it's doing all of this, I can't even click on anything or access task manager by clicking Ctrl-Shift-Esc or Ctrl-Alt-Del so I can end a process. All I can do to get out of this, is, turn my computer off and restart my computer or press the power button to turn off my computer, then right before it turns off, I click the Cancel Button that appears in the middle of the screen that appears showing you what programs you need to close out before shutting down the computer-that's all I can do. After I click the cancel button, everything is straightened out, but the windows have switched back to Windows Vista Basic.
The first time it done this, I restarted my computer, and when it restarted, my computer automatically chose to perform a disc check on its own and it deleted a corrupt file or something like that-I can't remember exactly.
My laptop has never done this before no matter how much I've got going on in my computer, but this is happening even with just one internet explorer window open-it doesn't matter what or how much things I have opened up.
Things I have done to fix this:
1) I've ran a full disk check-the one that goes through all 5 stages.
2) Checked display adapter in device manager-it's working properly.
3) In command prompt-SFC/scannow
