Currupted Instillation files I cant update to SP2 or restore settings

I have two OEM Vista Home Pre 64 bit on two Toshiba A355 laptops. I have no pre instillation disks. On one of them, while updating to SP2 it got hung-up on the 3 stage and located currupted instillation files. With help from MS support I was able to F8 and end the stage 3 hangup so it did not install the SP2. Now I'm stuck the laptop that will not boot up. All the restoration tools report currupted files but fail to fix them. Safe Mode fails at !! 0xc0190036 !! 1158/76329 (wdscore.dll). I backed it up but the drives are on on the disk. MS support sent me SP2 34/64 bit installation disks but it does nothing for the OS. Is there a website with drivers/start that I could download. I did not run the update till this is fixed. THanks for the help in advance:sick:

Be advised: this erases all data, and reloads all factory default software. Be sure to back up all your important personal data beforehand!

To access the Toshiba recovery partition, power off the laptop. Hold down the 0 (zero) key and turn the laptop on. Keep holding down the zero key until the TOSHIBA logo appears, where you should start tapping the zero key repeatedly. Stop if the unit beeps or when the TOSHIBA logo disappears. The screen should flash ** HDD RECOVERY MODE ** for a split second, then load the Toshiba recovery program right from the hard drive.
