Background issues with Vista Home

I installed an application (Bridge Baron @ www.bridgebaron.com) onto the PC. After installation, I have experienced periodic background issues on bootup. Sometimes, the VISTA default background appears rather than my updated beach scene. Also, the icons that have been added since I purchased the PC do not show up with the VISTA default background. If I "reboot" it goes away. However, it returns about once a week. Since then, I have uninstalled the bridge application but I'm still experiencing the periodic default screen appearance. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, does anyone have a solution to the problem?

If you go to Control Panel>Appearance and Personalisation>Personalise>Themes you could try setting the theme to Vista default, though I'd love to help I don't actually fully understand your problem?

    Weakest part of my computer is the graphics chipset. Only ever used a laptop. Also use USB Freeview TV Card Lenovo Docking Station External Speakers Other bits a pieces as needed
