Installing Windows 7 Onto a New Volume?

Hay people.

I have a genuine copy of Windows 7 and would like to use my 1T HDD for it.
However im running vista on there at the moment and have nothing big enough to back up all my data.

Is it possiable to create a new volume via Disk Managment (around 200GB) and install Windows 7 directly onto the new volume without loosing the data from the 750GB volume??
