I have a 250 GB hard drive on my Dell laptop. It has been wiped and restored and I don't really have much on this computer. A total of 152 GB is in windowsimagebackup. Is this normal?

So these are just backups of existing files? Do I lose them altogether if I delete them? This is one of those days where I feel like a computer newbie altogether.
