Slow, black screens, not responding

Recently my computer has been more frequently running slower and generally not working as well as it has been.
Its less than a year old and running vista home premium 64bit.
It happens if i have a lot of programs running eg: using dreamweaver, photoshop as well as having an internet browser open etc. It use to run fine with these programs running at the same time, occasionally now they wont respond and pressing ctrl alt del opens a black screen and after a while a message comes up saying logon failed security dialog box . . . . . or something similar. It also occured earlier just browsing the internet with a slow loading page which i closed and tryed top open the network centre. It decided not to respond and ctrl alt del resulted in the same as above.
Also occasionally when starting up after i log in there is a black screen, after managing to open the task manager processes slowly start to begin and the main desktop appears as usual.
So any idea why these keep happening? Could it be to many processes running in the background and startup?
Any help appreciated.

Ive uninstalled "rapport" which seemed to be eating my memory. A quick google revealed numerous issues with this software so im hoping it may be the issue. Anyone else have issues with "trusteer rapport"

I will try those.
Problem is still occurin after removing what i thought was the problem program.
Computer will be running fine, just browsing the net and then itll suddenly start running slow using a lot of memory. Then itll become un responsive and shutting down will sometimes work but take at least 10mins from pressing the button to the machine switching off.
Any ideas why this is happning? will the above posibbly sort this? cheers

Install Revo Uninstaller and see what programs have been recently installed.
Run CCleaner to clean out junk.
Check Start Up programs.

I used CCcleaner on a previous computer, had a clearout of the computer and removed the sidebar as well as a few other things. I will see if this makes any difference.

Well in short. . . no.
Again it started off fine and then pretty much grinds to a hult and programs start to become un responsive. decided to shut down again, after a long time it went to a blue screen, i couldnt read all that it said but it mentioned about checking new hardware/drivers then it shut down.
So bassically any ideas again? it cant just be down slow performance as its a reasonable spec computer.
