Hello I recently cleared the cmos on my EVGA mother board trying to fix a minor problem. After I booted up I went to remove a program to be reinstalled and I cannot highlight any programs or do anything with them. Its like they have all been locked or somthing. Anyone know whats going on??? thx for your time!

I think that your best bet is a system restore. Go back to before the problem. Then ask at this Forum on how to correct the original problem

I will give your problem some thought, until then make a restore point right now and do it once a week. We do not want this situation to happen again.
Until we get this worked out you can uninstall with this.

I'm not enough of a hardware guy to know if every BIOS "set default" command in Setup is the same as killing the power. Maybe some system builder guys can chime in if there is ever a difference. Other than that the only thing that comes to mind is some registry corruption. I would investigate the BIOS thing first because even if you do a completed OS and software reinstall to factory condition if the BIOS settings are messed up the problem will still be there.
Also you don't say what the BIOS problem was. If it's dropping bits there may be no software fix for it. Might be a bad chip/battery/whatever.

Dont forget to make the restore points. You can avoid problems like this if you make them now and then once a week.
