Solved installing vista with upgrade cd

hi every one .
here is what i like to do .
right now i have window 7 on a brand new [500]hard drive .tomorrow i will get my brand new [250] hard drive and i like to install vista on it .but not using dualboot .but all i have is a upgrade cd that came with my computer when i got it in 2007
is that possible to do .
i am not to good with computer .am 66 and no school .
so all i will do is turn off my pc and disconnect the red cable from w-7 and connect it to the vista drive .and leave the power connected on the 2 drive
maybe one time a month .

thank you .this is all i need to know .
i did have the same link saved .but it is better to make sure that i have it right .
i have been reading about it for a month now .but you get deffrence ideal how to from place to place .but it basicly the same .
i do have a printer and i did print it all .
but i know that i will get in trouble tomorrow .so i will be back

I know just how you feel. I did a clean install with Widows 7, from Vista. The support of the members, here and the tutorials gave me all the information that I needed. But, maybe a little insurance would be nice. Do what I did, go to youTube and watch it a few times. Its a great feeling to know exactly what will happen next and what the screen looks like.

here is were i am now .i setup my new drive in .i installed vista home premium with my upgrade cd .but i did not put the key's in .so i have 30 days on that clean install to put in the key's .
now i have to do the upgrade and put the key's in .
do i do the upgrade using the cd again .

ok you know that i am no good with a computer .
now i did my clean install using my upgrade vista cd that came when i got my computer in 2007 .
using step one ..
now cant i ask why i don't have to do step 2 .
one more thing in 2007 i transfer every thing in a new case .then i did not know that the serial number was the key's but when i done all that in 2007 i did mark the serial number in one of my book .so i do have the key's .
so if i click on activate now and put my key's in i be ok ?????

You can just install your key number. I presented you with the phone method, because it is just as easy. You use a touch tone phone, and give your number. If there is a problem you will be elevated to a rep. If you prefer the alternative method, it will be fine. You do not need to use the DVD.

well am out of luck .my key's don't work .
then i had one more set that a guy gave me .but it said that they are in use .plus i had one more set .but it is for business not home premium .
so i know a guy that will gave me a set tomorrow .ha as a computer shop and he as some i guess .am ok for a month anyway plus i still have my window 7 on the other drive

yes you are right i was thinking about it when i got my reply in .sorry about it .
yes i did read that about the 120 days .
really for me it a good pass time .but i really like vista better then window 7 .
do you know why that my key's don't work because my serial number start with a m [letter] but you cant not start with a letter only a number .why i don't know .i was sure that was my serial number that i had in my book .
i let you know later .if not i will go back on w-7
